Bon Voyage Boulder, Hello Summer Live Art Tour 2012!

"The only certain freedom's in departure."
Robert Frost

Viewing the "Flatiron" mountains over looking Boulder one last time in my rearview window as I drove away, I blew a kiss and hoped for a safe departure. The past 7 months in Boulder has been a beautiful, growing experience filled with great people I will never forget. Also very thankful for the support I had before my departure. Annie Wirth came to me with a conceptual commission based on Brazilian classical musician Egberto Gismonti's track "Ano Zero", translating in portuguese as "Year Zero". Here is my latest painting titled "Ano Zero."

This past weekend was spent with Thomas Robertson-Forrest, Rae Vena, Tom Reed, Andrew Thompson, Wake Leah Lady, Mateo Malone and so many other beautiful artist at Karma Arts and Music Festival held on Poppy Mountain Campground outside Morehead Kentucky. I want to give a big thanks to Tom Reed for coordinating the art gallery and decorating the festival grounds with beautiful installations. Outside the art scene, the music and lights were a fantastic and entertaining display to enhance the beautiful campground as I conversed with new faces and spent a plethora of hours painting all weekend.

The new piece is based upon my design interpretation and personal, inner vision of the Sun. As we are coursing through the spring and into summer, nature blossoms and humans hormonal levels peak. We see direct affects relating to our seasonal development and increase in exposure to the sun. I see it to be a fitting time to express such visions and look forward to developing the piece through the final stages during these shows this week. Come find me and say hello!
